Privatization Commission Board meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Privatization Mian Soomro – Bol News

The fourth meeting of the Privatization Commission Board was held at the Ministry of Privatization under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Privatization and Chairman Board Muhammad Mian Soomro.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Privatization, the meeting reviewed the services of International Hotels, acquisition of services of companies for external audit, sale of government properties, PECO and other important issues of privatization.

The meeting also reviewed the overall status of the privatization plan.

The meeting also reviewed in detail the privatization of 26 different government properties, 23 of which were sold through open bidding in September last year, while three properties remain to be sold.

The board also approved the services of financial advisers in connection with the sale of 17 other different unsold properties of the government.

At the meeting, the Board unanimously approved the removal of Pakistan Engineering Company (PICO) from the active list of plywoodization due to some issues.

Presiding over the meeting, Federal Minister for Privatization Muhammad Mian Soomro directed that the meeting of the Privatization Commission would be held again next week in which the issues of rehabilitation of Pakistan Steel Mills would be reviewed in detail.

Federal Minister for Privatization Muhammad Mian Soomro further said that under the Privatization Ordinance, we want to complete the privatization process in the shortest possible time and transparency will be ensured in the entire process.

The meeting was attended by Secretary Privatization, Board members and senior officials.
