Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has called on Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi in Islamabad.
According to details, issues of mutual interest including the Palestine Peace Diplomatic Mission and the growing trend of Islamophobia were discussed during the meeting. But congratulated the Foreign Minister.
During the meeting, the two leaders expressed deep sorrow over the killing of innocent members of a Pakistani-origin family in Canada.
The Foreign Minister said in the meeting that he had a detailed discussion with the Canadian Foreign Minister to bring justice to the innocent victims and to curb the growing trend of Islamophobia.
In the meeting, the Foreign Minister said that the Canadian Foreign Minister, while assuring full justice to the victims, hinted at making joint efforts with Pakistan at the global level against the growing trend of Islamophobia.
Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Canadians welcome the positive response of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, our embassy in Canada is in constant touch with the families of the victims and will provide them all possible assistance.
He said that effective measures need to be taken at the global level to eradicate Islamophobia and hate speech.
It may be recalled that the Governor Punjab appreciated the effective efforts made by the Foreign Minister to curb the growing trend of Islamophobia in the Western countries.
