According to the statement made by the Presidency of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Şentop, President of the Azerbaijan National Assembly Mistress Gafarova, President of the Algerian National Council (Senate) Salah Goudjil, President of the Algerian People’s Assembly İbrahim Buğali, President of the Indonesian People’s Consultative Assembly Bambang Soesatyo, President of the Kyrgyzstan Parliament Talant Mamitov, President of the Libyan State Supreme Council Khaled al-Mishri spoke on the phone with the Speaker of the Malaysian Parliament Azhar Azizan Harun and the Speaker of the Iraqi House of Representatives Mohammed al-Halbusi.
Şentop, who exchanged views on bilateral relations and issues concerning the region, conveyed Turkey’s support to friendly countries as well as congratulated the Eid.
Şentop, who first met with Kyrgyzstan Parliament Speaker Talant Mamitov on the phone, congratulated his colleague’s holiday and wished that these blessed days would be instrumental in strengthening the unity and solidarity of the Islamic world.
Reminding that Kyrgyzstan is the 30th anniversary of its independence at the meeting, Şentop said, “As the Speaker of the Parliament of the first country to recognize the independence of your country, I convey my congratulations to the people of Kyrgyzstan and all your authorities.” said.
Referring to the relations between the parliaments of the two countries, Şentop said, “Our relations are strengthened in every field by the feelings of love and respect our peoples have for each other. The cooperation between our parliaments is also enriched by intense mutual contacts.” he said.
Kyrgyzstan Parliament Speaker Mamitov thanked Parliament Speaker Şentop and congratulated the Islamic world on Eid al-Adha.
Saying that he believes that inter-parliamentary friendship and brotherhood will further develop, Mamitov expressed his wishes for the brotherly Turkish people.
Parliament Speaker Şentop then held a telephone conversation with Indonesian People’s Consultative Assembly President Bambang Soesatyo. Congratulating the Indonesian citizens on their holiday, Şentop wished that these blessed days would bring peace and well-being to the people of the two countries.
Soesatyo also conveyed his thanks to Şentop and celebrated the Eid-al-Adha of the Islamic world.
